Γαλάτεια[editar]

The Triumph of Galatea

Is obvious that I like Greek mythology, so I chose this name.

The name makes reference to Galatea the the spirit of the Acis River in Sicily, beloved of the nereid, or sea-nymph, Galatea (Γαλάτεια; "she who is milk-white"), daughter of Nereus and Doris. She is a Sicilian nymph loved by the Cyclops Polyphemus. His parents were Nereus and Doris. When Galatea rejected the Cyclops in favor of Acis, a shepherd Sicilian, Polyphemus, jealous, killed him by throwing a boulder. Galatea and Polyphemus are the parents of Celto, Illyrian and Gala, eponymous god of the Celts, the Illyrians, and the Galatians, respectively.
